The opening work of Shanghai 【CNNC•Science Park--Science and Technology Innovation Micro-forum】series forum activity, has cordially invited Ma Hongman, renowned Doctor of economy and commentator of finance and economics, Zhang Jun, Dean of Institute of Economics, and Guo Lianjiang, vice-general manager of Shanghai West Hongiao Business Development Co., Ltd.. All of the three distinguished guests have delivered wonderful speeches on the topic of science and technology innovation and regional development respectively for all leaders and attendees in the activity.

Since Shanghai published the Opinion on Accelerating Construction of Science and Technology Innovation Center with Global Influence in 2015, “Shanghai pattern” has been showcase not just China but the entire world a brand new scientific and technological smart city which inherits inclusiveness, cooperation and win-win with practical action.

According to statistics, in the past five years, Shanghai participated in 11 projects among 50 major scientific projects of China. At the same time, Shanghai has also made great contribution to six major scientific and technological achievements mentioned in the Report of the 19th Congress of the CPC. Since 2017, Shanghai government has also provided strong support to various enterprises and institutions in establishing Artificial Intelligence Research Center such as “Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Shanghai Jiaotong University and “Shanghai Independent Intelligent Unmanned System Scientific Center” of Tongji University. Renowned domestic and foreign Internet brands such as Microsoft, Amazon, Huawei and Alibaba have set up artificial intelligence innovation platforms and research institutes in Shanghai.

In 2019, Shanghai made great efforts in “Gathering Technological Innovation Power” with practical action. Shanghai succeeded in holding the “2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference” after the 2018 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Shanghai has been sticking to conforming to the international standard and building a global scientific and technological entrepreneurship center with the most advanced scientific and technological horizon.

Echoing what the two doctors of economics said, there is another key word regarding scientific and technological innovation in Shanghai this year, namely scientific and technological innovation board. What the China financial market lacked was an important financial sector similar to Nasdaq, and that gap in China’s exchange the entire capital market has been fulfilled by the scientific and technological innovation board. More importantly, scientific and technological innovation board is capable of promoting the development of China’s scientific and technological enterprises. The Unit Planning of Shanghai Hongqiao Main City District (Draft) was recently published, which aimed to build this district into a “1+3+N” central economic system, namely a Hongqiao main city sub-center, three regional centers and N surrounding community centers. Guo Liangjiang, a distinguished guest of this activity, vice-general manager of Shanghai West Hongqiao Business Development Co., Ltd., made it clear that West Hongqiao is located in the area that is closest to the core area and the transportation hub within the scope of Shanghai Hongqiao CBD and is one of the prioritized areas of Shanghai economic development.
